I think Mr. Keppler is terrific! He writes for the "everyman", not just the hot shots. thanks, Strikeout. /ibb/skins/default/emoticons/wink.gif ldavekp@attbi.,com

Yes there have been a few about Keppler.

I too enjoy his columns and was just thinking of why that is. For me it is because he is always discussing some gadget or hardware item.

Most photographers can be divided into two groups although I guess they aren't mutually exclusive. First is the artists who enjoy creating an object of beauty. Second are the people who like to play with toys.

I think Keppler appeals to the second group which I would bet is made up mostly of males. My daughter likes photography but could care less about the mechanics.

On the other hand, I like to tinker with things and see how they work, how they are made etc. This group is the one which enjoys Keppler's writings the most imo.

Herb is one of the coolest editors at Pop Photo, and Jason Schneider is setting right there beside him. /ibb/skins/default/emoticons/wink.gif

have been reading Herb's articles for many years and have the highest regard for his knowledge and talent, he has been predicting our current state of affairs for some time, more convenience and less quality, my trusty topcon with 28,50,100 and 200 lenses has never given me a fuzzy picture yet however the artistic merits could be greatly improved.

Herb is great at creating fake controversies that sell magazines-- the "Leica vs. Pentax" (or whatever that other camera was) is a great example. He's also a highly professional shill for Pop Photo advertisers like Adorama, and can be counted on to push products in his column. It's hard to argue with success--- Herb knows his stuff, even if he can't remember to put film in his auto-everything camera before going out to shoot all day.

Herb is one of the reasons I subscibe to PopPhoto.
I like to read his articles first before I read the rest of the issue.

Mr. Keppler is 70% of Pop Photo articles. While many chagrin on how little is offered in the quantity and quality of aritclesin POP PHOTO; without his input we would see little other than advertisig. I might add that the edit facilities for responding to the bulliten board sucks!! See I can't even go back and replace ''bulliten'without starting over..... AARGH!!!! Screw your happy/save faces!
