I'm a little confused.

If you took these photos of the event for this guy without any agreement on what to charge beforehand,
what was his expectation going in?

Normally things like prices are setup before the event so there aren't any surprises.
Could we get a little bit more information on the whole situation please.

Were you at the event specifically for taking these photos? or Did the chance to sell these photos come up during or after the event?

Is the person buying the photos a friend or family member?

What is the person going to do with the photos?

Ok sorry I wasnt very clear:

I was at the event just to freelance/practice what have ya and I was talking to a guy he said I am this guy... and handed me a card he owns a special FX business in about an hour Im going to explode about 100 gallons of gas over there it was at crash a rama at the local small circle track he said to me if you get any good shots email them to me and I will see if I want to use any of them for my web site so I sent him about 15 photos of the whole explosion (which was awesome by the way if you have never seen it) and some fireworks that he did as well.... well he emailed me and said I would like to use some of them for my web site, ETC.. so I dont know like the going rate for something like that and would like some advice from you all I know I want the credit for the photos on the photos or the site somewhere but other than that not sure ok any help would be appreciated
First, if he wants you to email you the pictures to see if he wants to purchase them; a) send him only a few (1-3) and b) make sure you have a very evident copyright watermark.

It's best to set any price terms before you shoot but in this case I understand why it wasn't done. Has he offered to pay you or did he say he wanted to use them?

Essentially he has you over a barrel now (he has the images) and I'd be inclined to get whatever you can get out of it ($100-150 maybe)and insist on photo credits (at least you'll get a little exposure).
Now mind you, the rates I'm going to show you is from a professional. So based on your
experience, your rates could be alot lower...

I would imagine you'd be interested in the World Wide Web Usage Fees if thats
what he plans on using them for.
Rocketball, there is a space between the t and the m at the end. Try this

http://www.sethresnick.com/price/price.html

well it appears to be adding the space when i post as well, just copy
the text above and paste into the browser then delete the space.
Just out of curiosity, is there any family ties between Seth and Mason?
