<div>Well Circuit City has lost one customer. Their ads (unwanted pop-ups in this forum) keep hijacking the forum site. I can't get rid of it and the next thing I know is the Forum is gone completely and the bar on the bottom has me connected to their site. Let them know if I want any info about their specials i will direct myself to their site. Yes, I have 3 pop-up blockers activated and non of them are stopping these. It is worse than the HP ads because it takes me off the Popphoto site completely. I just wish I could type in what I really think about them for doing this. It would definitely be triple X rated.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Lynn </div>

Running Firefox 2.0.something, with additional spyware and haven't had any pop ups so far (said with fingers tightly crossed) <span>;)</span><br></div>

I have <i>never</i> seen these pop-ups...I wonder if some people aren't keeping up with Spyware prevention/eradication.<br>In any case, taking it out on Circuit City seems to be counter-productive. If there is a beef with anyone, it would be with the website, not the advertiser. Pop-ups only appear with the consent of the website.<br><div></div>

<div>Popups are a psychological experiment aimed at people who get most annoyed at the interruption. They are trying to find your limits!</div><div> </div><div>My PC is an island of tranquility where I never get popups and Windows never crashes! I don't know what I'm doing right but decades in the computer biz has taught me to run software out of the box, never fiddle with it, and never change the defaults set by those nice people who work for Uncle Bill Gates. And no, I'm not on Microsoft's payroll.</div><div> </div><div>- Roy</div>

I'm reminded of a Foxtrot strip where Jason is investigating the Windows source code. It goes something like this:</div><div> </div><div>If Internet.Browser= "Internet Explorer"</div><div>Then</div><div>Smooth.Sailing</div><div>Else</div><div>X = RandInt(0,255)</div><div>Crash(X)</div>

<div>I browse PopPhoto.com extensively from both my home and work computers and have used other computers (at friends' houses), as well. I have zero adware/spyware/anti-virus/pop-up blocker software on my home computer primarily because it's a P.O.S. running WindowsMe and there's nothing of value on it anyway so I just don't care. I'm actually kind of hoping it crashes so I can justify buying a new one.</div><div> </div><div>My work computer is only a few months old running XP and is obviously connected to the 'net through our network but, although we have anti-virus, we do not have pop-up blockers.</div><div> </div><div><strong>I have never once seen a single pop-up advertisement anytime I've visited this website on any computer.</strong> Certainly not complaining, though. Why would some folks be getting them and others not?</div><div> </div><div>Jeremy</div>
