<div>I'm curious, whenever I check to see who's on the site I find that some of us never leave it. Sometimes people are listed twice as being on a really long time. One or two in particular have been on line for weeks, did they keel over, and die at the keyboard. Should we call an ambulance, it must be too late. Now what would be a really useful feature for the site is if we could check to see if their still breathing, because although they purport to be present they haven't flexed a finger in thousands of on line minutes. I'm pretty much a computer illiterate could somebody explain this frightening anomaly.:D;) Fotolopithecus</div>

<div></div><div>Unless I'm mistaken, they simply log on to the forum, and then simply do not log off even though they may have personally left the computer to go to another room or even to another state.</div><div> </div><div>You don't have to turn off your computer, you don't have to severe your Internet connection, and you don't have to log off any site you've chosen to visit. Personally, I generally don't turn off my computer, but I do shut down my Internet connection when I'm not using it.</div><br><br>Message Edited by Landscaper on <span class="date_text">06-05-2007</span> <span class="time_text">09:14 PM</span>

It's probably a glitch in the board software because the board automatically logs you off if you haven't been active for a certain period of time.<br><div></div>

<div>Does it have anything to do with the Cookies?</div>

Ummmm...you sure you're not looking at the "Newest Members" listing? That lists newest people to sign up, even if they're not logged in, until they're replaced...<br><div></div>

<div>Personally, I am on all the time. The spinal cord surgery I had to alter my need for sleep was a bit painful, but I survived. The toughest part was installing a toilet in my office.</div><div> </div><div>Ahhh..... the things we do to pump up our post count :D</div>

<div>No Jack, just click on &quot;see all users online&quot; Dr jalapeno is a case in point, he's listed 5 times for thousands of minutes. I mean I know hes breathing because I see him responding to posts, but some others don't for very long periods.;) Fotolopithecus</div>

It's obviously a software glitch. I just had a look and Dr J is listed 4 times, each with different dates and minute counts. Bozzzzz is listed once with a negative minute count. Others are listed multiple times as well. <br><div></div>

I think David's on the right track. Probably has something to do with cookies and the feature sometimes called 'remember me' where you can make a setting in your computer so you don't have to log on to a site each time...maybe it's as tho you're always on or always there.

<div>Im sure it has at least a little to do with software glitches. But I've spent hours and hours this site, I love it. </div>

Doctor J has over 55,000 minutes online. I have 15 minutes online as of a few minutes ago. I bet my &quot;POSTS PER MINUTE&quot; average is higher than the good Doctor's.<span>;)</span><br><div></div>
