i'm in cape coral and tuesday will be going to the everglades.

then, i'm road tripping it north up the gulf coast. anyone around? jaharris? lol... or any pointers on places i should check out? Even though i've explored the east coast extensively, i've really only been to cape coral and venice on the gulf coast...any location pointers would be appreciated...

Tampa area: the old city, Ft Desoto state park for birds. There is a boat trip out to the islands that also have a wwII fortification/shore batteries. I've never been to the tampa zoo, but they say it is a good zoo.

hey Jude,, to be honest Ive been to the West coast many times but not really explored it that much with camera in hand, so I have no pointers on sites to see,, Ive heard its very cool around Marco Island which is just South of you, but again I havent been there, you should be able to find beautiful little beachs along the West Coast for sunsets and such, as you go up towards the panhandle there are nice beachs. Ive been meaning to come over there for quite some time so if you find anything of interest let me know :D We had a cold front roll through and the temps have dropped recently, they were up near mid 70s and a few days near 80, but the last few have been somewhat chilly,, hope you are having a good time and I look forward to seeing what you come up with :D now, there are a few spots on the east coast that are cool !! Jupiter has a place called Blowing Rock thats on my agenda ;)

Yes, more so if you like boat rides. You can get a few wild life shots there as well.

If you have time, check out Sanibel Island. Nice beaches, lots of shells, a lighthouse, and overall nice scenery. I believe there is also a wildlife/bird refuge there. I was there earlier this year. Too bad I'm not at my vacation home in Ft Myers this week so I could join you. I hope to get to the Everglades one of these days when I'm down there.
