How many others have received suspicious billings for renewing American Photo?

Just two days ago I received a "billing" from something called the "National Subscription Service." It was for $63.00. In my haste to dispose of it, I didn't bother to see for how long or where it came from. I just immediately tore it up and threw it in the well-known circular file.

American Photo is the only magazine I have received such billings for. But there seem to be scam artists around who will seize on any opportunuity to dupe people.

BEWARE: Don't pay for renewal unless the billing is clearly from the magazine.

They will also try and get you by phone. I have had calls "thanking" me for being a "loyal subscription" customer and I just keep repeating the same question: What magazine? as they're talking. They have never said what subscription and wouldn't-I don't get anything. But be sure NOT to give them any information at all, don't even agree you are who they asked for, just hang up.

I've gotten them too....one asked if I wanted to continue a subscription to a magazine I've never ever heard of !

They seem to be coming for the most part from some outfit in Florida. Generally, the "bill" is for more than the cover cost. If I get more than one "bill" from these people, I forward it to the Postal Inspectors.
