Can anyone give me pointers on how to use my camera? It's newly bought and it's completely cleaned but these are just a few of the results.
I haven't taken a complete photo yet and I am using the right film. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Also, if anyone lives in Sydney would you know if there is a polaroid store nearby?

Thanks!

Looks like expired Polaroid film to me...is it? Or is it The Impossible Project film. Let me know what kind of film it is and I can help!

It's the impossible film PX-70 colour shade.

you'd better take some photos and paste it here!

The brown space means the emulsion is not being spread evenly.
the exposure and focus also appear to be inoperative. Wait, the SX70 is a manual focus. Was it looking like that in the viewfinder?

my guess, is bad battery in the film pack. Not enough power to run the camera.

Okay...well, if you have and SX-70 and PX70 Color shade film (do you know how new the film is?? PX Cool is the latest and best) then you have started off right! A lot of people put PX680 in the SX-70 without an ND filter and have exposure problems (since the SX-70 was designed for 100 speed film).

The "divot" at the top
I don't think it's a bad battery, otherwise the images wouldn't have come out of the camera. It looks like the rollers aren't putting enough pressure on the film. It's quite a bit bigger than I've usually seen, so I am wondering if the rollers have been damaged and are too far apart. That's only a guess.

No picture/white picture
My guess here is that you aren't shielding the film as it comes out of the camera. TIP has made great strides in this, but they are still EXTREMELY sensitive to light upon ejection. You need to cover it as soon as it comes out. There are multiple things you can do, but I use the darkslide that first comes out of the pack and insert it over the rollers and after shooting, I put it and the darkslide into my pocket. Other people shoot into bags, or boxes and have great results too.

TIP film is still not "consumer friendly", but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun! Let me know if this helps, if not the more info you have the better to figure out what went wrong.

Check out my flickr stream for some shots that I've done:

and if you want a review of the latest film, I was a tester for it and blogged about it:

hi i just bought onestep rainbow for a week.its refurbish unit.and unfortunately these things happened to me too.
First pack of film is exactly the same like the pictures on left side.Brownish, looks like chemical leaking in the film and half of the pictures going brownish.
And the second pack all the pictures turn to pinkish blue-ish color and no image appear at all.
this is so frustrated.
i used impossible film and the date of manufactured is on 2011.

so what is wrong with the camera, and how could i fix it.

If you read the post above yours, I think you'll find your answer.

In short, nothing is wrong with your camera, the trouble lies more in the film itself. Polaroid had decades of manufacturing experience with their films, whereas The Impossible Project has had only a few years. In other words, they're not too good at it, and quality control issues abound.

Note especially the previous poster's comment "TIP film is still not 'consumer friendly'". I read this to mean that current buyers of the film are more like beta testers than anything else.

Hi
I have the same problems with my SX70 Land Camera, and i think its the rollers. I have cleaned them, but they seem worn out and are slightly rough to touch. Any ideas on how to fix these, as in should i try opening it up? if so, how?
