Some portraits of my wife from our German trip.
Well you got me to look. I actually like #3 the best. Nice silhouette.
I've been had, she's dressed, but at least she is very attractive.
Tough shots to take from under an enclosure, toward the harsh lighting, but what a pictoresque valley in the background. Possibly lighten your wife in the photo so her features are more easily seen against that wonderful background. Where in Germany is this? It must have been a fantastic trip.
Yeah, tough shots. I bracketed like crazy but there's just no way of recording the entire dynamic range.
This particular series was taken at Sooneck Castle. The Rhine valley area between Bingen and Coblenz is simply astounding. Castles and vinyards -- that's all they got. It's heaven. People are exceptionally friendly and hospitable. Wine is not bad. And the views are extraordinary.
I like the first one the best. LOL! on the title. Does't "Extreme" Nuditiy require a skateboard, or bundgee jumping or something? LOL!
Interesting portraits, Alex. I have to wonder, was there a reason that you didn't use fill flash on these? It seems to me anyway, that this would have reall enhanced you wife's features- particularly her face and eyes. Hope you're well.
There are two reasons why I didn't opt for the fill-in flash. The first one is rather silly: I don't seem to get much control over the flattening effect (perhaps an umbrella or any reflective white board would do the trick here). I'm getting round to these techniques with the New York Institute of Photography as we speak. This part of the course is fabulous. The second reason is that the setup really begged for silhouettes with the hyper focal DOF. So I aimed for that. Actually, I do have a couple of shots with good front lighting out of this, but they look boring. Amazing stuff -- photography!
Here's a "normal" light shot with the pretty standard treatment:
from the first 3 picts, i like #1 the best.... but they seem to have a
blueish tone.... dont know if its my monitor or if its something else...
i like the last pict you posted... if you can crop out the purse, and clone out the glasses and visor, we have a winner
About some fill flash? wireless flash?
