I like it to, it has an hdr look but not completely un-realistic. What were your settings? The sparkle in the lights is distracting from your subject, the hotel, but its a good image.
Thanks for looking i appreciate others opinions,it will usually make me work harder and learn more about my own.i think it's approaching the surreal side of hdr,but not going so far as other images i have seen or done myself.the morning i shot the 9 images,30sec.to 1/6,had clear sky, no clouds and high humidity causing the rainbow and light flare and sparkle with my sigma 14mm that i don't think i would have got with other lenses that i own.i shot these at f9 and merged and tone mapped in photomatix, using details enhancer settings of strength 80,color sat. 89,luminosity 5,eveything else at default.i then convert to 16bit tiff and work curves in cs3.i have merged and mapped this image in cs3 as well with virtually the same results.hope i answered any ? you had, thanks again.kdude66
I like this image also. What is strange is when looking at the image from a "photographer" standpoint, I was looking at what could be improved in the photo. Suddenly my son walks up behind me and exclaims "WOW What is that"? I tell him and he says that is "Awesome". I like the response that folks give the first time they view a nice HDR image.kdude (kenny) is a friend of mine and we work together at our real day jobs, but that dosn't influence my opinion about this image. Great job Kenny, let's shoot more and share them here for discussion with others that have knowledge of the HDR process and tone mapping skills.
I love it Kenny, Esp the Star burtst around the lights, adds a little something special too it. the rainbow could be gone but its not that big of a deal.. Smog stinks... i got a pretty sweet sun rise and the fog kinda ruined the effect a tad.
Very nice kdude66. I like the way the lights burst.
Thanks for your input,i got my framed 10x20 print today and showed it to 3 women that work in my apt. office where i live ,they all just stared at it a while then said wow then asked me how did you do that,is that a real picture.i replied yes it's a real picture shot at night just done a diff. way.none of these women are photographers in any way so it's very interresting to hear what they have to say.you bet i'm going to shoot and post more hdr.thanks again kdude66
Thanks for commenting i appreciate your honesity. don't know about the smog or was it high humidity that caused rainbow i'm gonna try it again on diff.cond. and see.kdude66
Beautiful picture! I myself just began experimenting with HDR and I aspire to create photos as intense as yours.
