What is a good size to send to friends that will give a good picture, but not take tooooo long for them to down load?? Is 1024 pixels about right???...Thanks and have a good one...Tater....PS--(Sorry, I am a Digital dummy, and most friends are on phone lines)I sent some full size, toooo big and the small ones were too small....Thanks again....
(Edit)
Ok let me repharse, I am using “Picasa2” as the program, and using Outlook Express to e-mail the pictures…
Picasa2 can be set to send at different qualities in the tools-options… It asks “When sending more than 1 picture resize to” the options are, 160 - 1024 pixels, and also full size…
My friend wants to print these pictures to 8x10, these pictures taken with an 8.2 MP camera are 3504 X 2336, and some are 5.0 MB…… I want to get the pictures to him via e-mail at a quality that he can print good 8x10s, but since he and myself are on phone lines the time required to down load is very long… I don’t understand what Picasa2 means by 160-1024 pixels, is this the long side, short side or what?? (Like I said I am a “D” dummy) Also, “When sending more than 1 picture”, does that mean, if I just send 1 picture it will be a different size??
I know kids can do these things, but I am a long ways from a kid, unless, 2nd childhood counts…lol… Again thanks and have a good one…Tater…
Thanks tabbyday, for moving the topic... I have been to the site you gave, but was too dumb to understand.... I guess the only thing is to get with someone and work things out on my own via e-mailing pictures back and forth till both are happy or whatever...Thanks and have a good one...Tater...
Trial and error, along with a lot of angry responses taught me that JPEG images of about 4x6 inches at 100 ppi to 6x9 inches at about 75 ppi and medium compression are acceptable to most people and email programs.
