I just shot a bunch of stuff, took the card out of the camera and into the card reader. Looked at them on the computer, eveything was fine. Then I put the card back in the camera, shot a few more shots and my camera stopped shooting and it said "Card is not formated" I did not format the card, but it is now saying "file contains no images" but yet it says I only have 25 pictures left. If it was formatted I would have about 100, so I think the info is still on there. When I put the card into the card reader, some files show up but they have weird names with ? and they are called .jxp and it wont let me open them.
Anone know what happened? Can I recover my pictures???
Some programs write data to the "drive" (which is what your card is when it's in the reader) as you look at JPGs -- Microsoft's default "picture viewer" does this (it writes "thumbs.db" files). If the computer was in the middle of writing a file on the card when you yanked it out, you may have trashed the directory. Your files are there, the directory's just messed up. Time for some recovery software...
I would copy all the files from the card (jpg and jxg files) into a temparary folder on your computer. Does the file size for the jxg files look similar to regular jpg files you would normaly take. If so, rename the files and try to open them with an image viewer.
