In CS3, Edit>Preferences>File Handling, there is a checkbox for opening JPEG files in ACR and a checkbox for opening supported RAW files in ACR. There is no checkbox for opening TIFF files in ACR. Am I missing something?
It can be done from Bridge by right-clicking on the file and selecting open in ACR and it can be done in Preferences in Bridge. I don't use Bridge; however. Am I going to have to start using it? Is there another way?
Thanks.
Nope, I don't think you are missing anything. I couldn't find out how to do it either.
In Photoshop, instead of "File->Open" use "File->Open As" -- navigate to your TIF file, then in the "Open As" drop down list near the bottom of the open dialog box, choose "Camera RAW" as the type. It'll open a TIF in ACR. That works for JPGs, too, so you don't have to change your preferences.
It's even easier in Bridge, by the way -- just select the image you want (RAW, TIF, JPG, BMP, whatever...) and hit CTRL-R (on a PC) -- it'll open the file in ACR.

Hee, hee, hee. I'm as giddy as a drunken man (with a nod to Charles Dickens and Alastair Sim - my favourite Scrooge).![]()
Thanks Paul. That's great!
