    Canon 28mm 1.8

Anyone here have this lens? I've read some reviews on photographyreviews.com and there are differing opinions on this lens. I want the opinion of you all as I value it more so than the mentioned website. Specifically, what I am concerned about is the focusing speed. Is it fast and accurate?

If it's USM is anything like that of my CAnon EF 28-105 f/3.5-f/4.5 or Canon EF 17-40 f/4L, it should be pretty quick considering it doesn't have to move as many lens elements. No first hand experience however; sorry. I thought I remember someone here having one.

I have the Canon 28mm USM 1.8 and it is my favorite lens. I use it almost exclusively. The speed comes in handy for interiors where no flash allowed.

Thanks for the replies. Srcohiba, I've read some reviews that say that the focusing accuracy is not always accurate. In your experience have you had any problems with this?

I've never had a problem focusing with this lens. I usually have had more problems with the zooms; but all of the Canon primes focus is on the money.

I've had the lens for several years now, and I've never had a problem of any kind. It's simply a first-rate, fast, wide-angle, really handy in low light, but useful in any light.
