My shots finally came back from Dale. This was my favorite shot (there were a few good ones from the 40 or so I took, this is thed overall best IMO). The top picture is the original and the bottom one cropped. I didn't bring my big tripod, fearing they weren't allowed (turned out they were). My little tripod was too short for the fence. My clamp couldn't clamp onto the fence. So what did I do? I mounted the camera on the clamp-head, and placed- handheld- the clamp on top of the fence! Worked nicely, and I didn't manage to drop it onto the cars below!! :-)
Vivitar 19mm and Fuji 100 at f/8 and a long exposure.

The fireworks over the skyline makes a very good image. If it were me, I'd crop them up from the bottom to just where the river(?) is and eliminate the bottom portion that doesn't contribute to the shots.
Hi Ben:
Nice!
I was just across the river from you at the Macy's grandstand. I did the same thing - I left my tripod at home thinking they wouldn't be allowed. Doh!
Dave
Good work....
Bump up the contrast a little to give yourself a better black though.
