Had to raise this old thread.........
I was going to say that Biltmore house and gardens should be very photogenic.
I'm in Goldsboro. Pretty long ride to Asheville.

I'm a NC lifer. I was born in Winston, and last lived in High Point. We have annual passes to Carowinds, so we frequent Charlotte- although I don't think we renewed them yet for this year. We had 15" of snow about a week before Christmas, and in some parts, hints of it still remain, but for the most part- it is gone. It was neat to see and photograph frozen waterfalls, and other winter spectacles during that brief spell, but unless you love BW photography, it's hard to find something worth shooting- especially since the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed. I can't wait for spring to get here, it will be amazing!

I've seen the stadium, but I'm not a big sports fan so haven't given it too much thought. I prefer to venture on the BRP and it's trails, or head to Brevard- just 30-35 minuted from me, and venture in the Pisgah National Forest. I have plans to explore the DuPont forest soon, but will probably wait till spring for that. The entrance to the BRP is literally a minute from my apartment (staying in one here in Asheville until our house is completed in Fletcher), but as I mentioned earlier, sadly the BRP has been closed for a month now. Due to all the wet weather, the rivers/streams are full and overflow quite often- so I cannot wait till summer gets here so the levels will drop. Yes, I think it is a good thing that there is plenty of water, but I prefer to water bouncing off the large boulders rather than just a solid sheet of water.

In any case, there is a lot to see and do here, I just don't know a single soul.
I live in Raleigh, but am in Asheville quite a bit - my brother in law just got a job at the Biltmore Hotel, so I hope to visit more than we used to. I have done a bunch of shooting around the city as well on the BRP and am always up for something if I am around.
