I swear Bonnier could write a book "How to screw up a good website"! It would be nice if you could mark posts as read once you read them!

Three times today the forums have been marked as read on its own. How many more bugs are going to have to surface before IT gets off their arse?

I sent both Stan and Brian a PM immediately after my earlier update re symptoms/causes I was experiencing (Mon, 1/24). Given the recent "flurry" (a relative term here) of appearances and ever the optimist, I was hopeful that "a new and visible" presence had arrived. They are either ignoring it OR working on it and feel that they have nothing to report until its fixed or temporarily patched......failing to appreciate the value of the concept of update status! I have heard from neither of them, here or via PM.

While its better than before (how could it be worse, short of totally shutdown?), I find myself having to check unbolded (ie purportedly read) messages as to the last reply time vs my last online time.....often finding mistakenly marked threads.

Maybe Bonnier is trying to mix things up. One minute every post is marked as read, the next they aren't.

I'm sure Stan, Brian and Dan are busy trying to solve this latest problem seeing that they haven't chimed in.

Dear Stan, Brian, Dan or whoever the #@!* is in charge of this website....

Please fix the "Mark as Read" feature. One day of seeing posts marked as read without having #@!$ read them was amusing at best. Day Two, this crap is just getting old.

Don't you think it's time to re-evaluate how important this software is and find something that... oh.... actually works and is user friendly?

I just noiticed that several new discussions in the Readers Gallery were marked read, this despite the fact that I did not even look at them. I have also sometimes noticed that when there is a new post--a brand new thread--and I click on the little + indicator that SHOULD take me to the first unread post, it sometimes takes me 5 or 6 posts deep in a thread that I have not previously ever visited. I then have to scroll back to teh top to see what I had not seen before.

Edit: Perhaps this will assist with the troubleshooting, but try this: Go to a brand new thread that you have not read, but one that has multiple new postings in it. Click on the double-down arrows that, when clicked is supposed to take you to the first NEW post. It actually takes you to the last post in the thread, NOT the first post that you have not yet read.
This is only one problem, but it might be related to those above where the entire thread is marked as read, even if it has not even been opened yet. I am experiencing both of these issues.

I'm really glad I no longer have high expectations from this crew. Some things just never change no matter how hard they try to convince you otherwise.
