Thumbs up Rave on a Crazy deal for a Minolta X-700

So, one of my friends called me up today, knowing im a photographer, saying he found a really cool Minolta for sale for 25 dollars. Says it was originally 200, but due to the holidays, and the fact no one bought it in a few years, it had been down priced two times. Came with a large leather case, the original lense, 7 filters, a coated Vivitar Super Albinar Auto telephoto lens, an Auto 280PX flash, and a teleconverter. not to mention a ton of cleaning and maintenance supplies. I've been a big fan of film photography for years, and this is my first SLR, not including old Promasters and Vivitars the class im in provides. After reading the instructions, i found out it needs a battery to function. First SLR i have ever used that required a battery to operate, but at 20 bucks im not complaining.

What do you guys think? Like i said, i have never purchased an SLR before, all the cameras i owned previously where antique Argus C3's and 75's and Kodak Brownie 2's.

What a deal! Buy a battery, a few rolls of film, loader 'er up, and see what happens. If it works, you've found a good film camera. Even if it doesn't, you may be able to get it repaired. In any case, $25 for an X-700 is a real deal.

Congrats on a great deal. Love finding those types of cameras in pawn shops. If you know what they are worth, you can find some real deals.
