Fireworks - Breaking Most of the Rules

I get to have the first fireworks pictures this July 4th, if only because these are from 2008.

As mentioned in the thread title, I broke most of the rules for shooting fireworks; I didn't use a tripod, or a black card. I did shoot in bulb, at a small (f22) aperture, but all of these were handheld, and I was shooting from a boat in the middle of Mamaroneck (NY) Harbor.

Considering what you did, or didn't do, these are pretty good.It goes to show, you don't always have to follow the rules..
The question is not what you look at, but what you see.
