Again, thank you all for the great help. I think I'm going to dive into the DSLR world and try the Panasonic G3.
All great advice on here. I second the Canon or Nikon entry level DSLR. Look at different ones and see which one is to your liking. also, I recommend you buy a book or two. I have one on Digital photoagraphy by Scott Kelby. he is a good explainer.
